The transmission in the visible spectrum of light is decidedly homogeneous, as well as the low chromatic variation, to allow for effective use in the lighting scenic, artistic and scientific with maximum distances of 25 meters.
FEATURES AND APPLICATIONS
The synthetic fiber optics (coded PR) in PMMA (polymethylmethacrylate) are slightly less flexible than glass ones, due to the larger diameter and higher rigidity of the single fiberoptic. The sheath is made of self-extinguishing and flame retardant materials. The synthetic fiber optics have excellent color rendition even on medium-long distances, up to 20-25 meters. In various applications, mainly those related to the scenographic and decorative lighting effects, this fiber optics are a viable alternative to glass ones. As for the glass fiber optics, the synthetic ones are also available with diameters ranging from 1 mm to 6 mm.
